- Peter L. Francia is professor of political science and director of the Center for Survey Research at East Carolina University. He is the author of several academic publications on the subjects of campaign finance, interest groups, public opinion, and American elections. His major works include The Financiers of Congressional Elections: Investors, Ideologues, and Intimates (2003), co-authored with John C. Green, Paul S. Herrnson, Lynda W. Powell, and Clyde Wilcox; The Future of Organized Labor in American Politics (2006); Guide to Interest Groups and Lobbying in the United States (2012), co-edited with Burdett A. Loomis and Dara Z. Strolovitch; and four editions of Conventional Wisdom and American Elections: Exploding Myths, Exploring Misconceptions (2008, 2010, 2016, and 2020), co-authored with Jody C Baumgartner.
