Kevin Robert White

  • Kevin White is an Associate Professor in the School of Social Work at East Carolina University. He has over thirteen years of research experience focused on understanding and improving safety, permanency, and well-being for at-risk youth and their families. Much of his research has explored evidence-based solutions for strengthening the lives of youth involved with the public child welfare system, including youth adopted out of foster care. His research interests developed out of thirteen years of practice as a child welfare caseworker and a school social worker. Dr. White obtained a MSW and PhD in Social Work from UNC-Chapel Hill and an MS in Data Science from Eastern University. Dr. White's has served as an investigator or evaluator on three multi-year federally-funded projects, including the Permanency Innovations Initiative, the National Quality Improvement Center for Adoption and Guardianship Support and Preservation, and Understanding Post Adoption and Guardianship Instability.
