Dr. Ciprian Popoviciu has over 22 years of experience working in various technical and leadership roles in the IT industry. He founded and led Nephos6, the first company to enable OpenStack for IPv6 and deploy the first IPv6 only OpenStack cloud in production. Prior to starting Nephos6 he managed the architecture team of Cisco’s Engineering Infrastructure Services and worked in several technical and leadership roles for Cisco Systems. He is an industry recognized domain expert in IPv6 who, over the past 17 years worked on the strategy, architecture, implementation and validation of IPv6 adoption by large service providers and enterprises Worldwide. Dr. Popoviciu worked with various governments on defining national level and agency level IPv6 strategies and standards. He also worked with product and test teams on specific IPv6 features and roadmaps towards IPv6 readiness. Dr. Popoviciu authored two IPv6 books: “Deploying IPv6 Networks” and “Global IPv6 Strategies”. He co-authored 5 IPv6 related IETF RFCs and multiple patents. He is an IPv6 Forum Fellow, IPv6 Hall of Fame 2019 inductee and a technology expert for the European Commission. Dr. Popoviciu completed his Executive MBA at Kenan-Flagler Business School, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Global Network Advancement Group
The GNA-G Programmable Network Working Group (PNWG) aims to undertake an in-depth consideration of the so-called Computing Models that encompass the workflow and operations of the programs mentioned, namely how the program processes, distributes and makes data available for analysis, as well as how the data resulting from analyses is propagated and shared. The WG will cooperate in an R&D program, working with the science programs’ data and computing management teams, to formulate, design and prototype the new network services and new modes of R&E network operations that coordinate the use of network, computing and storage resources distributed across a global footprint. 2019
