• Dr. Catherine Schwartz, professor of Mathematics Education, has been at ECU since 2008. A former elementary teacher, she continues to love teaching including undergraduate and graduate courses in elementary mathematics education and professional development for practicing teachers. Her research focuses on the teaching and learning of K-8 mathematics, developing teacher vision and agency, and design-based implementation research into large scale infrastructural change. She is currently a PI of the North Carolina Collaborative for Mathematics Learning.
