  • Dr. Marjorie Campo Ringler is a behavioral scientist specializing in faculty development and academic unit transformation. Her recent research focuses on enhancing undergraduate computer science courses through the integration of active learning strategies. Dr. Ringler is dedicated to advancing curriculum and instructional pedagogies that support student learning, particularly for multilingual and culturally diverse student cohorts.
    Dr. Ringler has made significant contributions to program development within the Department of Educational Leadership. She has introduced innovations such as service learning in principal preparation, curriculum revisions influenced by the Carnegie Project for the Educational Doctorate (CPED), and the established the pioneering Dual Language/Immersion Administration Certificate - the only one of its kind in North Carolina.
    As a LatinX and bilingual individual, she further enriches EdD courses by guiding students on educational journeys to South American countries, delving into the study of global policies, politics, and their implications for education.*******

    Established a statewide English Learner Institution of Higher Education Committee (ELIHE) hosted by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction. The purpose is to facilitate collaboration among UNC Educator Preparation Programs to better prepare teachers to work with English Learners and Dual Language Learners. Founding member and lead facilitator (2021-present).

    The third year of the ML IHE (2023) report describes the membership growth and the development of the purpose of the statewide university faculty committee.The second year of the ML IHE, during the first year (2022) twelve meetings were held with 20 faculty from 13 public and private universities. Based on committee discussions, we are expanding the membership of the committee to include a broader representation of EPPs including elementary, middle grades, and secondary education.Fourth year: The ELIHE Committee has renamed itself to MLIHE. This academic year we grew in participants and universities represented. Subcommittees are starting research studies and planned a series of webinars for 2024-2025 academic year. 2021 - 2024

  • "A Statewide Training Program for Farmworker Health and Safety Professionals Grant As part of HRSA emergency funds to support a stronger workforce in farmworker health, NCSU has received a contract from the NC Farmworker Health Program, Office of Rural Health, NCDHHS. Dr. Catherine LePrevost is the PI of this project. ECU is a subcontract on this project with both the College of Health and Human Performance and Agromedicine Institute providing mentorship of students.
