- Dr. Alex K. Manda is a professor of Water Resources in the Department of Earth, Environment and Planning and the interim director of the Water Resources Center at East Carolina University. His research focuses on groundwater-surface water interactions, environmental change, saltwater intrusion, and coastal hydrogeology, integrating geophysical methods, sensor networks, and datadriven modeling to track salinity dynamics and hydrologic connectivity in coastal environments. He earned his BSc from Cardiff University (UK), an MS from Florida International University, and a PhD in Geosciences from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
