ur proposed project builds on previous NASA Earth observations that have quantified mangrove and marsh changes globally since the start of the 21st century. These dynamic models have also attributed changes in coastal habitats to various human and natural disturbances which are key factors in quantifying resilience and risk metrics across time and space. In addition, we have developed a completely space-borne approach to map shallow water bathymetry using ICESat-2, Landsat 8, and Sentinel-imagery which will be an integral part in resolving coastal flood impacts. We will utilize satellite imagery, machine learning, and spatial statistics to determine the resilience of coastal wetlands to storm events, while also integrating these spatial habitat models with numerical hydrodynamic models.
