Researcher Bio
Yeliz Eseryel is an associate professor in the Department of Management Information Systems at East Carolina University. She received her Ph.D. in Information Science and Technology, M.B.A. (Specialization in Global Entrepreneurship), and M.S. in Information Management from Syracuse University. Her research includes open innovation enablement through information systems, and virtual and IT-Enabled Leadership. She is the Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Leadership and Management. Her industry background includes business and strategy consulting and IT project management. She has taught internationally at the corporate, executive, master's, and undergraduate levels since 2004. She received the 2024 Board of Governors Distinguished Professor for Teaching award for her teaching, and AIS Distinguished Member Cum Laude honor for her research impact and leadership in serving her academic community. Journal of L&M - New Call for Articles after a break Prepared a new peer-review process and timeline for upcoming year's issues.
Prepared announcement documents for the upcoming year's issues.
Distributed the announcement to collect as many article submissions as possible.
Recruited reviewers.
In 2024, we will have two issues, which will be edited by the senior editor and C.J. Rhoads. 2022 - 2024
Journal of L&M-Reviving the Journal After The Website Hacking The journal website was hacked and therefore the review process had stopped.
The journal website was rebuilt.
We are still trying to recover the article archive, which is going in the positive direction. 2022 - 2023
IFIP Work Group 8.2: IS and Organizations Events & meetings An international IFIP Oasis workshop was held at ICIS in Hydrabaad.
We held a business meeting in December 2023.
The officers kept meeting and we made decisions about finances for events, website strategy, and membership
Following the Jubileum event, where members collaboratively came up with the research agenda of the future in the MIS field, we are working towards achieving this agenda through conference mini-tracks, and then to propose a special issue to AIS the Basket of 11 journals. 2022 - 2023

International Federation of Information Systems Working Group 8.2- Information Systems and Organizations This is a prestigious three year role leading up to the vice-chair position. IFIP is a 60 year old organization. The working group 8.2 was established in 1977 and has an extensive membership from the IS community.https://ifipwg82.org/
I've been elected as a co-secretary. The other candidate for the secretary position was Dr. Pamela Abbott,who leads the Information Systems Research Group at the Information School, University of Sheffield, and heads up Postgraduate Research there. She is also a Senior Editor in the Journal of Information Technology. 2021
Journal of Leadership and Management This is an international Cabell's journal with an acceptance rate of less than or equal to 20%. I've been promoted to deputy editor-in-Chief role in November 2021. I had served as part of the editorial review board in this journal between 2015 and 2021. 2021
