Tony Thompson

Dr. Thompson is Chair and an Associate Professor of Mathematics Education in the Department of Mathematics, Science, and Instructional Technology Education at East Carolina University (ECU). His research interests include Performance Assessments (e.g., edTPA) and Integrating mathematics into other subject areas. Dr. Thompson grew up in the beautiful city of Natchitoches, Louisiana and after receiving his degree in mathematics and history, taught middle and high school mathematics for 5 years. He received his MA in Mathematics and his PhD in Mathematics Education at Florida State University. Dr. Thompson previously taught at the Univ. of Alabama before coming to ECU in 2008.
