Brief Bio Sketch for Dr. Kelley Reinsmith-Jones, MSW
Dr. Kelley Reinsmith-Jones is currently an associate professor and Director of the MSW Program at East Carolina University's School of Social Work. She received her BLA at the University of Alaska Southeast-Juneau, her MSW at Eastern Washington University, and her Doctorate of Leadership Studies at Gonzaga University. While at Eastern Washington, she also earned a certificate in Health Services Administration from the College of Business and Public Administration. As an educator, her areas of research interests include spirituality and spiritual transformation, bioethics and genomics, IPE, justice and equity, and leadership development. She has been the recipient of four East Carolina University BB&;T Leadership Enhancement grant awards that allowed her to develop and teach leadership curricula and she has accepted several invitations to be a key speaker about or consultant for leadership issues. Previous employment within social services, spanning 20 years, included roles in juvenile justice, adolescent dual-diagnosis treatment, school-based social services, gerontology service planning and research, mental health administration, mental health residential and hospital services, and managed care. She also served as a private consultant, managing a federal HUD grant providing shelter and supportive services to migrant farm workers with HIV/AIDS. She has published many articles, and chapters, completed many presentations, and is working on a book with criminal justice collaborators focused on crime and public health.
