Helping children decrease or alleviate behavioral and emotional difficulties that interfere with normal functioning can be challenging using traditional psychotherapy. Using the therapeutic power of play has been shown to prevent or resolve psychosocial difficulty and help children achieve optimal growth and development.
This interactive workshop will give you an overview of play therapy by defining play therapy and discussing the therapeutic value of play, explaining the basic skills needed to develop a therapeutic relationship with a child, choosing appropriate toys when setting up a playroom, and sharing play therapy techniques that are appropriate to use with children in a variety of settings.
