Sea-level rise is an ominous threat to North Carolina, and the consequences must be better understood. To improve risk assessment, policy development, and adaptation to sea-level rise on the coast RENCI@ECU's 6th year strategy focuses on 1) improving the accuracy of sea-level rise and environmental process rate data for North Carolina, 2) improving sea-level simulation models and associated geospatial data and derivative maps, and 3) better understanding social and economic conseqeuences through vulnerability assessment. State, regional, and local government agencies are clamoring for information. These critical needs are addressed by the research projects in this annual scope of work and their associated engagement activities.
