abstract

  • The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) is implementing a multi-year effort to track the effects of approximately 1,750,000 yd3 of sand from an offshore borrow site with beach disposal on and adjacent to the south end of the Refuge. ECU will collect, synthesize/analyze project data, coordinate data analysis, conduct sand sample analysis, provide project technical reports, and maintain a database of all data collected. These reports will include appropriate location maps, graphics, methods, results, discussion, recommendations, and appendices containing all data. The product of this contract, i.e., the final report, will provide a planning document and science-based data from which Service personnel will make management decisions concerning possible future project activities.
