Dr. Lamson will attend advisory board and strategic planning meetings, oversee the implementation of the Purple and Gold Bus Tour (a tour with up to 10 stops through rural eastern NC to spotlight farms, industries, higher education institutions, and community sites), facilitate coffee talks in the east with farmers and small business owners, and initiate communication with farming partners about needed microcredentials (all of which are described below. Dr. Lamson will also serve as the initial point of contact for East Carolina University with the communication between external affairs offices (this is the point of contact for all legislative efforts), licensing and commercialization offices, and higher system level research and innovation coordination and collaboration toward the aim of establishing a governing structure from ECU with CROPS (e.g., Institutional Review Boards, affiliation agreements).
