Supporting Community Partnerships to Advance Structural Change for Farmworker Health in North Carolina Grant uri icon

abstract

  • Over the next two years, we propose to continue two of the previously planned projects: (1) use field verification to come up with a statewide estimate of accuracy of the state?s registered farmworker housing database in relation to the state?s e-911 address database and broadband serviceable location database, and (2) implement a survey to prioritize new strategies to advance the health of agricultural workers. Each of these projects is directly related to actionable steps that NCFHP and other agencies/organizations can use to advance health in rural communities. As a state agency, NCFHP will use information from the continuation of this project to institutionalize strategies that are informed by agricultural workers? needs and experiences, adopt improved models of community health worker engagement and healthcare delivery, and support eight partnering local health sites."
