Science and Data Support for the Town of Nags Head Estuarine Shoreline Management Plan

This project will contribute scientific information, analysis and knowledge related to shore-zone change to non-government organizations, and local, state, and federal agencies, and thus may influence decision-making in the near future. Past, present, and future human modifications to the environment will require intelligent, informed management decisions to conserve and sustain our natural resources. Our examination of shoreline change and collection of new bathymetric and habitat data will provide critical scientific information to inform sound principles and management practices for stakeholders within the Town of Nags Head as the community develops its first Estuarine Shoreline Management Plan.
