?During the last year and a half, we have been working to digitize all the historically significant audio and video recordings in University Archives because these kinds of media are decaying much more rapidly than paper-based records, and the equipment needed to digitize them is becoming scarcer as it too ages. As a mini-project within this goal, we are seeking to digitize the audio reels from UA28-04 Records of the School of Communication that have long-term historic value, particularly the earliest recordings of our campus radio station, which date back to the 1950s and include performances by the school?s musical ensembles and theater department, recordings of campus events, such as commencements, chancellor inaugurations, and building dedications, recordings of visits to campus by guest speakers, and campus news programs.
