Designing applications to foster the health of terrestrial and wetland ecosystems in the coastal zone of West Africa

The Principal Investigator, David Lagomasino, will be responsible for delivering the final land cover products to the rest of the team. He will assist with developing 3D structure maps of the coastal ecosystems for Benin and Ghana. Lagomasino will lead the time series analysis and work with the project investigators and in-country partners to provide the necessary data and access platform needed for operations. Lagomasino will oversee the image processing and data analyses of the Post-Doc. The Post-Doc will be tasked with refining and developing novel remote sensing techniques for monitoring coastal ecosystems. The resulting approaches will be integrated into an online data-access platform that address stakeholder needs.
We propose to develop land cover, land use reporting and prediction tool for the coastal belt of Western Africa in collaboration with in-country partners responsible for the reporting and planning for the target completion of SDG 15.
