Pitt County Community Prevention And COVID-19 Testing Study Grant uri icon

abstract

  • One of the important knowledge gaps in our COVID-19 response is understanding the proportion of asymptomatic and mildly symptomatic cases in the community who may be involved in disease transmission. Since laboratory testing is typically targeted toward persons seeking healthcare, we have little awareness of the true incidence and prevalence of COVID-19 in North Carolina. This contract will fund community-based research designed to understand the distribution and burden of disease in North Carolina in order to make informed containment and mitigation decisions.
