Evaluating the Usefulness of a Driving Simulation as an Occupational Therapy Tool for Evaluation and/or Intervention Grant uri icon

abstract

  • There is preliminary data using the RT-2S as a simple brake reaction timer across the ages. However, in the case of some individuals, using the foot pedals may not be possible and a hand held or two buttons may be used instead. Additionally, it is important to determine the current validity of simple brake reaction timers to more complex reaction timers, including an interactive driving simulator and a choice brake reaction timer. Therefore, we will be comparing four alternative reaction timers (a hand held simple reaction timer, a two button simple reaction timer, a choice brake reaction timer, and a simulation brake reaction timer) to the RT-2S simple brake reaction timer with normal adult volunteers across age groups.
