  • Abstract Reviewer for Conference I review and provide feedback on at least fifteen (15) conference abstracts for the upcoming SOPHE conference that occurs every March.
    It takes approximately 6 hours of my time to review and I do this once to twice per year. 2024
  • Beta Tester for Professional Online Forum I continue to serve as an NCHEC Beta Tester for the online CHES and MCHES Online Community. The beta testers interact with users on the new online community forum to provide feedback on its effectiveness and usability.
    I engage at least once per week on the forum to provide feedback to CHES and MCHES professionals and recommend best practices in the field of public health.
    I was recognizedNovember 19, 2024 as a Top Contributor of the Week for the NCHEC Online Community. 2024
  • Board of Director Member for the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing (NCHEC) On November 14, 2024, I wasappointed to a four-year term beginning in January 2025 and ending in December 2028 on the NCHEC Division of Professional Preparation and Practice Board (DPPP). The DBPPP works with colleges, universities and accrediting agencies to improve professional preparation programs and promote best practices in health education settings; and monitors and updates the certification application and eligibility review process. Interest or experience with the credentialing process and with professional preparation is preferred. See attached below. 2024
  • Provide input and updates for health related textbooks On a bi-annual basis, I serve as a subject matter expert (SME) to update, refresh, and assist in the revision of digital textbook products focused on personal health, fitness and health, and health and wellness.
    I devote approximately 10 hours total to this activity.
    I provide feedback for McGraw Hill & Cognella publishers.

    On March 11, 2025, I completed a review of the Cognella Nutritional Needs and Well-Being for the LGBTQIA+ Community textbook. See attached review. 2024
  • Professional consulting services I was an Independent Contractor for Constituent Services World Public Benefit Corporation (CSW) which is a Washington, DC based consulting firm.
    I provided Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) resources and study sessions to historically marginalized populations to prepare them for the October & April CHES exams.
    I provided 5 virtual CHES study sessions in the evenings and weekends in the Fall and Spring terms.
    I developed a CHES study guide, assessment, and FAQ for attendees Fall 2023 and continue to revise these materials.
    I devoted approximately 25 hours per semester (50 hours per year) to this consulting activity. 2023
