- Dr. Heather Seibert is an educator and researcher committed to creating equitable and supportive learning environments, ensuring all students feel valued and empowered.Her past research has explored OER creation, Creative Commons licensing, and libraries' role in promoting open pedagogy. Currently, she investigates the intersection of Generative AI, OER development, and copyright implications, with a focus on AI's role in Library Science education. Her current projects focus on the creation of AI models that can be utilized offline as a curated collection of disaster information for rural areas in Eastern NC. Through her work, she advocates for accessible learning and culturally responsive teaching and strives to create meaningful learning experiences that empower students and strengthen the profession.
