- Kim Larson is a Professor in the College of Nursing at East Carolina University. She is a 2023-24 recipient of the Fulbright US Scholar award to Poland. In Poland she worked with Polish nurses to develop intercultural care guidelines for refugees from Ukraine. Her clinical expertise in global population health includes work in Honduras, Guatemala, and Mexico. As a nurse fluent in Spanish she works closely with the Latino population in North Carolina in the areas of adolescent sexual health and personal safety. In Guatemala, she has collaborated with community-based organizations to conduct research projects in access to clean water and end-of-life/palliative care practices. She is the Principal Investigator of a Rita &; Alex Hillman Innovative Emergent Programs titled: A Community-based Palliative Care Model for Latinos with Cancer (2020-2021)
