Computers and Writing
Co-chaired Computers and Writing Conference 2022 East Carolina University hosted the Computers and Writing Conference from May 19, 2022, to May 22, 2022. This year's focus was Practicing Digital Activism. Participants came from all over the country, and some from abroad, to take part in the first face-to-face conference in Writing studies since February 2019. This conference was unusual in that it was originally scheduled for 2020. Unfortunately, like many events, it fell victim to the COVID 19 pandemic. In 2020, online events were scheduled, but the actual conference was put on hold until this year. The conference was organized by Dr. Erin Clark Frost, Dr. Michelle Eble, and Dr. Will Banks, and received support from the University Writing Program, the English Department, and the Thomas Harriot College of Arts and Sciences. For those who wanted to participate but were unable to travel, virtual presentations and workshops were also central to the program. In short, it was a wonderful opportunity to return to conference collaborations, and the event's hybrid nature meant increased opportunities for participants. C&W2022 welcomed over 200 scholars to Greenville, while around 200 additional attendees participated in the virtual conference events. 2018 - 2021
