Matthew Fish

overview

  • My research interests include the psychophysiology of recreational interventions, biofeedback, stress management, and mobile health. I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Recreation Sciences and Director of the Center for Biofeedback. Alongside my colleagues in the Center for Biofeedback, we've developed mobile biofeedback applications for veterans to use at home and during deployment for the Department of Defense. Recently, we conducted an international collaborative project that provided a biofeedback stress management program for underserved and underprivileged students with a behavior intervention plan. Currently, professionals worldwide are using biofeedback across the entire continuum of health. Our students continue to investigate the development and use of such applications varying from mental health conditions like depression and anxiety to the opposite end of the continuum, which includes optimal performance applications to increase the inherent abilities of athletes and service members.
