- A proud native of Eastern North Carolina, holds a B.S. degree in Child Development and Family Relations (Child Life) from East Carolina University. Obtained Child Life Specialist certification and used in both North Carolina and Massachusetts, as well as an Early Interventionist certification in Massachusetts. Furthered education by completing a Post-Baccalaureate program in Birth-Kindergarten Teacher Education at East Carolina University, earning Highly Qualified status for the B-K Teacher Certification in North Carolina. Pursued an M.S. degree in Education with a focus on Early Childhood from Capella University. Jocelyn Ruffin completed her Ed.S. degree in Education with a specialization in Curriculum and Instruction from Liberty University, Fall 2023 and has began Ed.D. studies in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis from East Tennessee State University, Fall 2024 as a doctoral fellow and student. With over 17 years of experience in Early Childhood Special Education, Jocelyn has dedicated her career to teaching in Early Childhood Special Education Classrooms. Currently, serves as Teaching Faculty within the Human Development and Family Science department at East Carolina University and holds the contract position of Professional Development Educational Specialist at the Nancy Darden Child Development Center located on the university campus.
