Becca Grizzard is a teaching instructor within the Department of Recreation Sciences. She is a 2003 graduate of Bethune-Cookman University, where she earned her BS in Biology. Grizzard was on a full-ride basketball scholarship and played both basketball and volleyball while at Bethune-Cookman. She owns a MS degree in Exercise Science from Georgia State University and is currently working on her PhD in Sport Management at Texas A&;M University. Her research interests are Culture and Sport with a focus on improving the experiences of international student-athletes.
She is a former collegiate strength and conditioning coach working with a wide variety of sports throughout her career. She is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the NSCA. She spent 7 years at the United States Naval Academy working with Women's Basketball, Men's &; Women's Tennis, Lightweight Crew, Squash, and Off-Shore Sailing. Additionally, she worked to implement a fitness program and help pilot the new fitness test (ACFT) with the Army at Fort Cavazos (Formerly Fort Hood) in Killeen, TX. She is also a former officer In the US Navy.
