The project uses data from literature, previously collected information identifying international programs in technical and professional communication, a web-based survey, and a follow-up protocol aimed at collecting information about U.S. and international programs? experience with, and interest in, collaborations. Information about international programs will include, to the extent feasible, the types of programs involved in international collaborations; the types of courses, activities, and other experiences that are sites of collaboration; the purposes, goals, and outcomes of collaborations; the varieties of forms collaborations take (i.e., student or faculty exchanges, participation in online courses, joint projects, etc.); the infrastructures and technologies used; and the challenges and benefits of involvement.
