ECU proposes to undertake the archaeological investigation of the sunken WWII B-24H aircraft site associated with MACR 3369 off the western coast of Italy near Montalto di Castro in August 2017. Archaeological investigations will include but not be limited to remote sensing through the use of side scan sonar and photogrammetric surveys utilizing underwater cameras and housings to characterize the extent and nature of the site under investigation. Two days will be devoted to side scan sonar, seven days for photogrammetric surveys, and two travel days to equal a total of eleven days.
