The Colonel Richard M. and Betty Debnam Hunt Teaching Resources Center (TRC) in Joyner Library at East Carolina University will create a Pop-Up TRC to deliver high quality books and curriculum materials, innovative STEM tools, and specialized programming to PreK ? Grade 12 educators and their students in schools across ECU?s service region. While the TRC?s extensive resources and services are free to all educators in eastern North Carolina, travel distance to Joyner Library often presents a considerable barrier to access for many in our predominantly rural service region. The Pop-Up TRC will be uniquely positioned to offer equitable access to curricular resources, STEM materials, and professional support at the point of need to educators and their students in the schools where they work and learn. Specifically, the Pop-Up TRC will prioritize service to Tier 1 and Tier 2 counties in eastern North Carolina with the highest percentage of children living in poverty.
