The Eastern North Carolina Literary Homecoming is a year-long program of events that celebrate the culture and literature of North Carolina. With activities in 6 counties of eastern North Carolina, the program provides a rich opportunity for peopole of this area to learn about and meet North Carolina artists. Eight artists will partiicpate in a 1 1/2 day symposium at Joyner Library and 10 events are planned in 5 counties throughout the year which will involve the artists and their work. The program theme for 2011 "Rewriting Nature:Impacting Change in the Environment" involves participants in exploring how to preserve and reconnect with the environment through literature and other artistic works.
