UNC SO Institutional Research Funding Awards-Musical Instruments and Materials Music Therapy Clinic @ ECU

Musical Instruments, adaptive and educational materials used within clinical music therapy sessions for individuals and groups with various mental, behavioral, health and wellness related needs.

This request is for an assortment of musical instruments and educational materials for use within an interdisciplinary research hub housed in the music therapy clinic. All materials requested will be used within the implementation of clinical music therapy services for individuals with a variety of behavioral, mental health, intellectual, developmental and health related needs across the lifespan. A focus of the Music Therapy Clinic @ ECU will be on interdisciplinary and student-led research.
Within the clinic, the requested materials will create access to numerous research projects that focus on the development, feasibility, and effect of music-based interventions and music therapy techniques for individuals of all abilities and diagnoses. This will also include collaboration with disciplines and departments across ECU such Brody School of Medicine, Health and Human Performance &; Allied Health.
