This project aims to reduce pollution, conserve water, and save energy through lean and green practices in five sectors of manufacturing industries in North Carolina. The project will provide on-site technical assistance via student summer internships that are focused on reducing the environmental footprint and business costs of small businesses and maintenance facilities within the five EPA NEAs. The project offers pollution prevention(P2) webinars, P2 workshops and one-day training courses in P2. The project will be led by the East Carolina University Center for Sustainable Energy and Environmental Engineering (ECU CSE3), in partnership with multiple centers and organizations in NC. Environmental justice and the climate change issues will be addressed through all of the project's pollution prevention activities.
