Creating Natinal Safety Net Dental Practice Faculty & Value-Based Care Champions

The purpose of the project, ?Creating National Safety Net Dental Practice & Value-Based Care Faculty Champions,? is to develop a network of dental school faculty champions who will advance their knowledge and instruction on issues related to the dental safety net and value-based care. The Scope of Work includes: 1. Work with the Division of Population of Oral Health at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) to complete the Certificate in Safety Net Dental Practice Program. It consists of four fully on-line, asynchronous courses that include: (a) Safety Net Dental Practice Management, (b) Leadership in the Dental Safety Net, (c) Oral Health Policy, and (d) The Role of Poverty on Healthcare Consumerism. 2. Participate in course debriefings at the end of each semester, with one held each spring in Charleston, SC. 3. Produce a plan of action for how elements of the courses taken might be incorporated into ECU?s curriculum. 4. Assist MUSC and the DentaQuest Institute with convening a half-day training on oral health and value-based care at the host institution.
