Letter of Interest for Participating in the BB&;T Faculty Leadership Fellows Program, Spring 2019 ;
Dear Office of Faculty Excellence Team,
I am writing this letter to apply for the BB&;T Faculty Leadership Fellows Program offered during the spring 2019 semester. I received the BB&;T Leadership Enhancement Grant in 2013 and participated in the BB&;T Active Learning and Leadership Development Program during Fall 2016. ; I also participated in the Faculty Leadership Fellows Program during the Spring 2017 semester. ;While participating in these programs, I have really enjoyed meeting and discussing leadership with faculty from different departments at ECU. I have started incorporating leadership activities into some of the classes I teach. If given the opportunity to participate in the BB&;T Leadership Fellows program, I will continue to incorporate the individual and group qualities of transformative leadership into the Visual Merchandising class (MRCH 3400) I teach this semester. Qualities of Transformative Leadership that will be introduced and discussed are: ;Self-Knowledge, Collaboration, Disagreement with Respect and Empathy. In addition to these, activities related to communication, listening skills and emotional intelligence will be incorporated into this class. Students will be expected to apply these skills and reflect on how these qualities have helped to work in a team and be leaders. ;
