Safety Training on Awareness, Prevention, and Reduction of Smoking Among Construction Workers Grant uri icon

abstract

  • The dynamic and demanding nature of construction activities makes workers particularly vulnerable to high levels of stress and fatigue, which often leads to increased smoking rates as a coping mechanism. Smoking among construction workers not only affects their health but also contributes to a higher risk of accidents and decreased productivity. Despite the critical need, there is a lack of comprehensive training materials addressing smoking awareness, prevention, and reduction specifically tailored for the construction industry. Therefore, funds are needed to support the development of an effective training program. This will include reviewing existing literature, conducting interviews with construction experts and workers, and implementing evidence-based strategies to raise awareness, prevent smoking initiation, and reduce current smoking rates among construction workers.
