The overall goal of the Institute is to conduct research on gambling awareness, behavior, risk and gambling-related harms based on the priorities of the NC DHHS (state prevalence, studies focused on marginalized groups and studies aimed at filling research gaps). The secondary goal of the Institute is to be a hub for other gambling research, including projects to be housed under one of the two centers.
