The purpose of this proposal is to develop a geriatric education center in eastern North Carolina that improves health outcomes for older adults by educating the geriatric and primary care workforce throughout the region. The purpose will be accomplished by developing and implementing interprofessional education (IPE) in geriatrics with students, faculty, and primary care providers, maximizing patient and family engagement in aging health, and thus, transforming the healthcare system in eastern North Carolina.
