abstract

  • This project will strengthen North Carolina?s response to farm stress and behavioral health needs through coordinated leadership within the Farm and Ranch Stress Assistance Network?South. The FRSAN-NC Coordinator will collaborate with regional partners to improve communication, align strategies, support evaluation efforts, and increase stakeholder engagement. Core activities include developing, maintaining, and expanding the NC Farm Help Line, NC Farm Help Directory, behavioral health counseling vouchers, peer support, mental health literacy training, and the NC Farm Stress Advisory Board. These services will reduce barriers to care, increase awareness of available resources, and connect farmers, ranchers, agricultural workers, and their families with timely support. Coordination with partner states will further strengthen resource sharing, expand regional capacity, and promote best practices. By linking statewide services with multi-state collaboration, this project will improve access to behavioral health supports, build resilience in agricultural communities, and create a stronger, more connected regional response to farm stress.
