abstract

  • Electronic cigarette (ECIG) use continues to grow in popularity in the United States and many ECIG users report ECIG use inside their personal vehicles, however, little is known about secondhand and thirdhand exposures associated with ECIG use inside of vehicles. This study will examine reported ECIG use behaviors and secondhand and thirdhand exposures associated with ECIG use inside of vehicles using survey methods, analytical chemical analysis, and real time indoor quality measurements. The results of this study will provide insight into the prevalence and nature of ECIG use inside of vehicles and the exposures to chemicals associated with ECIG use inside of vehicles to inform tobacco prevention efforts.
