Modern cardiac disease management seeks to integrate multiple device technologies and capabilities to optimize disease management and health outcomes. The AliveCor Heart Monitor is a device that records single-channel ECG used within 12 inches of a mobile device. This type of technology represents a new frontier for patients and for their health care providers to distill and digest this information. The purpose of this study is to examine the perceived added value of AliveCor technology to an ICD patient user experience. Recruited participants will use the AliveCor device for 30 days. A pre-post design will examine the perceived value and psychological effects of the use of AliveCor. The primary endpoint is technology satisfaction. The primary endpoint is technology satisfaction. Secondary endpoints include cardiac anxiety, cardiac self-care, and health care utilization. Additional information will be gained related to patient choice when participants are given the opportunity to continue to use AliveCor beyond the study period. This will allow for behavioral evidence of the perceived value of adding this technology.
