An Evaluation of the Influence of Groundwater Dynamics on Coastal Onsite Wastewater Treatment Systems: Research and Outreach to Support the Nags Head Decentralized Wastewater Management Plan

This project will assist the Town of Nags Head, NC to develop their decentralized wastewater management plan. Groundwater data will be analyzed to evaluate the effects of sea level rise and precipitation inputs on groundwater levels in the Nags Head area and to evaluate the effects of rising groundwater levels on the effectiveness of decentralized wastewater infrastructure. The analysis will contribute to the development of a community engagement program to educate the community on onsite wastewater treatment systems.
