Creating an ecosystem for informal STEM learning in eastern North Carolina

ECU is actively collaborating with three museum and science centers located in northeastern North Carolina. The institutions are: Aurora Fossil Museum, Sylvan Heights Bird Park, and A Time for Science (The North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences at Greenville). Through equitable partnerships we seek to build a consolidated search interface for STEM resources that broaden and enrich learners' educational journeys. The partnership outcomes are: a blending of formal and informal learning; increased engagement with students where disciplines converge; and expanded use of digital platforms for teaching and learning. To support them we will design and develop a search engine interface that searches across three educational institutions for information about STEM learning resources and content.
