This proposal requests funds to support the State of NC Undergraduate Research and Creativity Symposium (SNCURCS) hosted by East Carolina University and Elizabeth City State University in November 2020. This annual conference brings together undergraduate student researchers from all UNC system and private universities and colleges to present their research and creative work. Traditionally, during the annual event we have between 300 and 600 presentations. In 2020, due to COVID-19, the event will be virtual. The request is for funding to partially support the purchase of a specific conference software package supplied by ForagerOne. Because of its virtual nature and the financial challenges facing our universities and students, we will not charge a registration fee. Although we are unsure how many students will present, the organizational committee is planning for up to 600 in both poster and oral formats.
