Assessment of telomere length in offspring of vegan and non-vegetarian mothers

We are proposing the first ever study to assess impact of maternal vegan diet on offspring TL and telomerase activity at birth. In addition, we are proposing to evaluate the affect of diet quality, assessed by healthy eating index, along with impact of specific nutrient status on the same outcomes. The findings in vegan offspring will be compared to those from offspring of non-vegan controls.
