Growth hormone (GH) is a known mediator of lipid metabolism and has beenf ound to stimulate the STAT family of transcription factors. Previous research with adipose tissue suggest that the GH mediated STAT5 pathway plays a role in regulating lipid metabolism. Despite this knowledge, little is demonstrated that in humans, exercise prduces a parallel increase in circulating GH and skeletal muscles STAT5 phosphorylation.
