  • AIS Awards Selection Committee Also served on the Awards Selection Committee - reviewed ~40 chapter reports and coordinated reviewers for each as well during Fall 2023. I ended up coordinating/chairing this committee. in Fall 2024, I served as a regular member on this committee, reviewing reports. 2022

  • National DSI Session Chair Served as session chair at 2017 National DSI conference (Washington, DC) 2017
  • STEM Camp Was engaged in the planning of each of the STEM camps. Also, volunteered and presented sessions for the MIS STEM Camp for Girls, an Engaged Scholarship project. The camp introduced local female middle & high school students to technology and MIS by teaching them to code, create websites and attend demos where technology was used in other fields, such as Geography, Nursing, Computer Operations and Geology. Girls were selected from several different counties in Eastern NC.

    Fall 2022 - Greene Middle School - 11/7/22 conducted 1/2 day MIS STEM Camp event at Greene Middle School in Snow Hill with B.Killingsworth, J.Knapp, N.Tucker and 3 MIS students. Talked about MIS and built & programmed robots with girls in a STEM class.Spring 2023 - Third Street School - 4/14/23 will conduct 1/2 day MIS STEM Camp event at ECU with middle school
    Fall 2023 - 10/27/23 A.G. Cox Middle School - whole day MIS STEM Camp at ECU for girls & boys2024-2025 - Welcome Middle School and Boys and Girls Club whole day camps - 1 at ECU and 1 at Boys and Girls Club. 2017
