Brian J. Taillon, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor of Marketing and Supply Chain Management in the College of Business at East Carolina University, where he has proudly been a part of the Pirate family since 2017. His research interests span marketing communications, consumer behavior, digital and social media marketing, marketing strategy, and retailing, with a particular focus on how consumers respond to marketing messages. Dr. Taillon is passionate about fostering a dynamic learning environment, working closely with students to connect marketing theory with real-world applications through experiential learning. He currently teaches Marketing Strategy, encouraging students to develop the professional and personal skills essential for success in today's business world. Prior to ECU, Dr. Taillon taught marketing courses at both The University of Akron and New Mexico State University, and he continues to enjoy the energy and challenge of the classroom. Dr. Taillon earned his Ph.D. in Business Administration (Marketing) from New Mexico State University in 2017, following an M.B.A. in Strategic Marketing from The University of Akron and a B.S.B.A. in Marketing Management from Youngstown State University. He is actively involved in the marketing community as a member of the American Academy of Advertising, American Marketing Association, Society for Marketing Advances, and the Marketing Management Association. He also serves as Vice Chair of Membership Insights and Analytics for the AMA Higher Education Special Interest Group (Higher Ed SIG). Before transitioning into academia, Dr. Taillon gained valuable experience in hospitality management and has since consulted for various businesses and organizations. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, working out, exploring new restaurants, and visiting amusement parks. A lifelong Halloween enthusiast, Dr. Taillon creates intricate community displays throughout the month of October, reflecting his love for the holiday.
