• Asligul Erkan is an assistant professor of finance at East Carolina University. She received her Ph.D. in Finance and International Business from Old Dominion University and completed two master's degrees in business (University of Baltimore) and economics (Old Dominion University). Her main research focus is on corporate finance, corporate governance, executive compensation and traits, and cybersecurity. Her work has been published in well-respected journals such as International Business Review, Finance Research Letters, Business Research Quarterly, Journal of Insurance Regulation, Journal of Global Business Insights, and International Review of Financial Analysis. Dr. Erkan has been teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in corporate finance, financial institutions, and international financial management since 2012.
