• John W. Broadfoot, CPA
  John joined the ECU faculty in January of 2025 as a Teaching Instructor in the Accounting Department. He is a currently licensed North Carolina CPA and has over 20 years of experience working in public accounting, primarily with TJT, a 250 person firm based in Raleigh. He has an undergraduate degree in English Education from UNC-Chapel Hill and also obtained his Masters in Accounting from UNC in 2003. In addition to his public accounting experience, John taught English in a North Carolina public high school for five years. John is a current member of the NCACPA Educator Resource Group. He is the current chair of the Board of Directors of East Wake Academy, a K-12 charter school located in Zebulon, N. C. John has coached rec league basketball for over 25 years and also enjoys playing tennis in the Zebulon Old Farts Tennis Tour. He is married to Dr. Marla Broadfoot (the only Ph.D in their house!) and they have two daughters, Marilyn, age 18 and Viola, age 17.
